Iran’s Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian on Monday night met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Ankara, IRNA reported.

The meeting took place hours after Amirabdollahian held talks with his Turkish counterpart, Mevlut Cavusoglu.

Amirabdollahian said he discussed with Cavusoglu the relations between Tehran and Ankara, as well as regional issues, including the provocations of Israel.

The planned Turkish military operation in northern Syria was also discussed. In this connection, the Iranian diplomat said that Turkey's security issues should be resolved peacefully and through dialogue.
