At Thursday’s Cabinet meeting, the government of Armenia approved the bill "On Making an Amendment to the Law on the Structure and Activities of the Government."

Accordingly, it is proposed to reserve the government with the powers of monitoring and evaluation of the implementation of policy as well.

In the rationalization of this decision, it is noted that according to the current regulations, the ministries of Armenia are given the authority to develop and implement the government's policy in the specified domains, but it should be noted that the implementation of the policy also implies monitoring and evaluation of the implementation of the policy. So, a need has arisen to clearly specify by law the existence of such powers in order to rule out misunderstandings and to ensure the existence of a clear legal basis for the implementation of the aforementioned functions.
