Ukraine may disappear from the world map if "a ceasefire agreement is not reached in the war of Russian President Vladimir Putin, the former chief adviser to the Pentagon and retired army colonel Douglas McGregor told Sky News, Newsweek reported.

The longer this war goes on, the more people needlessly killed, the more damage will be done to Ukraine, McGregor added.

The former adviser to the US Secretary of Defense also noted that, in his opinion, Putin is not going to leave the Ukrainian conflict, and said that the Russian president has never been interested in all of Ukraine.

He is not going to leave, this is out of the question. The longer this goes on, the more likely there is to be a wider regional war, the former Pentagon adviser added.
