The explosion followed by a fire occurred during the test of the American rocket SpaceX, the head of the company Elon Musk said.
Video of the explosion and subsequent fire was posted on his Twitter account by NASASpaceFlight.com editor-in-chief Chris Bergin.
"Yeah, actually not good. Team is assessing damage," Musk wrote on Twitter.
