Azerbaijani president Ilham Aliyev has confirmed the course of Azerbaijan's rapprochement with Turkey.

“There is no equivalent to Azerbaijani-Turkish relations in the world, based on the will of our peoples, which are connected with each other by unbreakable threads, and built on friendship and brotherhood, are the most important in the world today,” reads the letter by Aliyev addressed to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, APA reports.

“I am sure that we will continue to step confidently towards the goals of the alliance that we defined in the Shusha [(Shushi)] Declaration, which we celebrated the first anniversary of its signing a month ago,” stressed the Azerbaijani president.

The aforementioned letter is dedicated to the anniversary of the July 15, 2016 coup d'état attempt  in Turkey.
