The UN Security Council voted on Friday to ease an arms embargo on the Central African Republic, a disappointment to its government, which has sought to completely lift the ban on the sale or transfer of weapons and ammunition, AP reported.

10 member countries of the UN Security Council voted for the easing of the embargo.

Foreign Minister of the Central African Republic, Sylvie Baipo-Temon, told the UNSC after the vote that the CAR government welcomes the first step towards an arms embargo.
