Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed his condolences to Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan regarding Sunday’s deadly explosion and ensuing fire at the Surmalu shopping market in Yerevan.
"Dear Nikol Vovayevich, please accept our deepest condolences regarding the death of people as a result of the fire that broke out in a Yerevan trade center. Please convey the words of the most sincere sympathy and support to the families of the casualties, as well as the wishes of a speedy recovery to all the victims," Putin's said in his letter of condolence.
