Thirteen of the 16 persons, who died as a result of Sunday’s powerful explosion at the Surmalu shopping market in Yerevan, have been identified. Hayk Kostanyan, spokesperson of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) of Armenia, informed reporters about this on Tuesday morning.

"The pregnant woman and the child are also on the list of thirteen. At the moment, the number of those missing is ten," the MES spokesperson added.

Kostanyan noted that 100 rescuers were currently working at the scene.

In addition to the 16 casualties, a total of 61 people were injured in the aforementioned explosion. Seven of them continue to be treated in various hospitals, and their health condition is assessed as satisfactory. Also, 21 vehicles have been removed from under the rubble.
