A fire broke out near Sochi International Airport of Russia, The Daily Express reported. 

The incident happened at a warehouse close to Sochi airport on Saturday morning and sent plumes of thick black smoke skywards.

Photos on social media show a Utair airplane taxiing down the runway, with a massive orange ball of flames mushrooming in the background.

A video purporting to show the aftermath of the explosion shows firefighters trying to hose down the blaze.

There is currently no suggestion that the explosion is connected to the ongoing war in Ukraine.

Sochi is located on the Black Sea, and it is a popular holiday resort for Russians during the summer and winter alike.
