More than 90 people were questioned as part of the criminal proceedings into the explosion in the shopping center Surmalu, the press service of the Investigative Committee reports.

The owner of the shopping center has not yet been questioned, the IC specified. The Investigative Committee notes that among those interrogated there are citizens, injured on the scene, owners of the market stalls.

The IC reported that as a result of the explosion 72 citizens received injuries of varying severity, 16 of whom died, 32 citizens suffered material damage. However, 50 citizens are currently recognized victims. There are no defendants. Forensic and comprehensive examination of the bodies were scheduled as part of criminal proceedings.

An explosion and fire in the shopping center Surmalu occurred on August 14. Sixteen people were killed, including a pregnant woman and a young child.
