German automaker Mercedes-Benz is selling its car assembly plant located in the Moscow region. This was reported by the Kommersant newspaper, citing sources in the automotive industry and the real estate market.

According to them, we are talking about a site in Esipovo, near Moscow, owned by Mercedes-Benz Manufacturing Rus, where Daimler KamAZ Rus JV owns 20%, and the rest belongs to the parent company Mercedes-Benz AG.

As one of the sources of the publication in the automotive industry, the deal is at the final stage, the plant will be bought by a Russian dealer, but Mercedes has some document problems. According to a Kommersant source in the real estate market of the Moscow region, one of the contenders is the Avtodom dealer, and the Moscow Region Development Corporation is taking part in the negotiations. Several dealers participate in the tender, the publication says.

The auto retailer told the publication that there would be a complex deal, which also includes the rights of the brand's distributor on the Russian market.
