Parliamentary opposition "Armenia" bloc on Friday issued a message on the occasion of the Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Republic Day anniversary. The message reads as follows, in particular:

"Thus, one of the brightest pages of our history was recorded in the Armenian annals, the birth of the second Armenian statehood, which was achieved and became a reality thanks to the heroic dedication, selflessness, persistent and relentless struggle of the entire Armenian people.

Alas, the adventuristic, short-sighted, and anti-national policy being conducted by the current authorities of Armenia dealt a losing and catastrophic blow to the inseparable unity of Armenia-Artsakh, making our double states face major security threats.

And yet, no matter how severe the consequences of the 44-day war [in the fall of 2020] imposed on us are, the destiny of Artsakh is in the hands of us all.

Defeat is not yet a verdict.

Independence and dignity are won by those nations that do not give up their dreams, that know how to protect their own rights, know the value of the land and the Motherland.

We, the entire Armenian people, have tenacity, persuasion, and the potential to forge new victories.

Together we can.

Long live the Republic of Artsakh!

Long live the united Armenian people!"
