Armenian Defense Minister Suren Papikyan met with Kansas Governor Laura Kelly.

Papikyan praised the high level of relations between the Republic of Armenia and the State of Kansas and thanked them for the warm welcome, the Department of Defense told NEWS.am.

Papikyan introduced the prospects for cooperation in areas of mutual interest, particularly cooperation between the Kansas National Guard and the Armenian Peacekeeping Brigade, as well as agreements reached during a previous meeting with Major General David Weishaar.

In turn, Laura Kelly thanked Suren Papikyan for the visit to Kansas and reiterated her willingness to do her best to further deepen the cooperation developed over the years.

At the end of the meeting, Suren Papikyan invited Laura Kelly to visit Armenia.

In honor of the visit of the Armenian Minister of Defense, September 7th has been designated as the Armenia-Kansas Partnership Day by the decree of the Governor of Kansas.
