Goris Security Council Coordinator Artur Hojabaghyan told NEWS.am referred to the ongoing shooting on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.
According to him, it’s most dangerous to take any action now.
“We just need to calm down the population to understand what we are dealing with in the morning,” he said.
"People should stay in the shelters because it is safer, and it is dangerous on the roads, there will be traffic jams, they will interfere with the movement of military equipment, the most wrong thing at this moment is to spread such news and leave the city. If there is a decision to evacuate the population, we will do that," he said.
Hojabaghyan noted that they have urged people to stay in their places and stock up on food and water as that is the safest thing at the moment.
He also said that there is tension on the north side and at the moment there are sounds of gunfire, while in Goris it's quiet now, but people are worried.
Azerbaijan opened fire on Tuesday night near Armenian borders. The reports have been confirmed by the Armenian defense ministry spokesperson who said that the adversary also used UAVS.
