On the night of September 13-14, the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border remains tense. The Ministry of Defense (MOD) of Armenia informed about this Wednesday morning.
"In particular, the adversary [i.e., Azerbaijan] used combat drones in the direction of Jermuk [city]. Although no significant incidents were recorded in the remaining directions of the aggression unleashed the previous day, today starting from 8am, the adversary again started preemptive operations—using artillery means, grenade launchers, and large-caliber firearms—particularly in the directions of Jermuk and Verin Shorzha [village]. The Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia are undertaking appropriate retaliatory actions, continuing to carry out in full the combat tasks set before them.
In fact, despite the clear reaction by the international community to the created situation, the military and political leadership of Azerbaijan continues [its] aggressive actions towards the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia—shelling both military and civil infrastructures. The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia declares that the entire accountability for the created situation and its future developments fall on the military and political leadership of Azerbaijan," added the MOD of Armenia.
At 12:05am on Tuesday, the armed forces of Azerbaijan began to carry out an aggression—using artillery, large-caliber firearms, and UAVs, too—towards Armenian combat positions in the direction of Goris, Kapan, Sotk, Jermuk, Artanish, and Ishkhanasar settlements of Armenia. The adversary targeted both military and civilian objects, and carried out positional advancement operations in some directions. The Armenian side has 49 casualties and 80 wounded; three of the latter are civilians.
