Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced at Friday’s Cabinet meeting of the government of Armenia that as of today, the country’s confirmed death toll—as a result of the latest Azerbaijani military aggression—was 135.

"On the night of September 13-14, the armed forces of Azerbaijan carried out an aggression against the sovereign territory of Armenia, and many representatives, soldiers of the armed forces of Armenia, selflessly sacrificed their lives in defense of the motherland. I propose honoring the memory of all the casualties with a minute of silence," Pashinyan said at the start of the Cabinet session.

"As of today, the number of our confirmed casualties is 135. But, unfortunately, we know that this number is still not final. We also have many wounded," the PM added.

Defense minister Suren Papikyan, in turn, stated that the operational situation was considered to be relatively calm at the moment.

"The ceasefire regime was essentially maintained last night. I can note that the [Armenian] armed forces are able to carry out the task set before them," Papikyan said.
