Establishing peace, stability and security in the Caucasus region is very important for the Islamic Republic of Iran, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi said while speaking at the SCO summit in Samarkand.

"We have always stressed the need to respect territorial integrity, national sovereignty and rejected any change of recognized borders between Armenia and Azerbaijan.  The parties should resolve their differences through dialogue and peacefully on the basis of international law.  As the Islamic Republic of Iran defends its national interests and security and the region, it also expresses its willingness to help resolve the differences between the two neighboring countries," he said.
