Iran will turn the dream of changing the region's borders into a nightmare, stated Vahid Jalalzadeh, head of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Iranian Parliament, Pars Today reports.

He expressed concern over the latest developments on the borders of Armenia and Azerbaijan, noting that the National Security Committee of the Islamic Parliament is studying the latest developments.

He said Tehran has been with Azerbaijan, Armenia, Turkmenistan and other Soviet republics since the early days of their independence and has provided various kinds of assistance to the governments of these countries. "Iran will prevent the region's borders from being changed."

Iranian officials have also previously warned of the dire consequences of changing the region's borders and Iran's hard line, stating that this is a red line for Tehran.
