YEREVAN. – On the instructions of the Chief of Police, Vahe Ghazarayan, an internal investigation is being conducted into the police actions at Yerablur Military Pantheon in Yerevan on Wednesday, Armenian News-NEWS.am has learned from the Police of Armenia.
Ahead of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's visit to Yerablur on Wednesday, Armenia's Independence Day anniversary, police special forces had forcibly detained 37 people, most of whom are family members of fallen servicemen.
Subsequently, 35 NGOs issued a statement demanding the resignation of police chief Vahe Ghazaryan.
