YEREVAN. – Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan of Armenia on Thursday had a meeting with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, within the framework of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, Armenian News-NEWS.am has learned from the PM’s office.

The Prime Minister referred to the large-scale military aggression undertaken by Azerbaijan against the sovereign territory of Armenia on September 13, emphasizing that 36 settlements were targeted by the Azerbaijani armed forces, as a result of which the Armenian side also suffered casualties and wounded among civilians. Pashinyan emphasized the importance of the international community's condemnation of the Azerbaijani actions and the immediate withdrawal of the Azerbaijani units from the sovereign territory of Armenia.

The Secretary General of NATO noted that he is extremely concerned about the events that took place on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. Also, Stoltenberg emphasized the need for the settlement of regional problems through negotiations and making consistent efforts in that direction, including with the support of international partners.

At the meeting, the sides exchanged views on various matters of mutual interest.
