The hysterical reaction to the partial mobilization is difficult to understand: there was a lack of information, but now there is a lot of it, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters, RIA Novosti reported.

"One could still understand this kind of hysterical and extremely emotional reaction in the first hours after the announcement of partial mobilization, even on the first day. Because, indeed, there was a certain lack of information, which is also understandable and explainable," Peskov said. He said that now there is no longer a lack of information about the partial mobilization.

"Already since yesterday, in accordance with the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers, all information reference lines have already been activated. The Ministry of Defense regularly answers all questions. All phones are working. Now there is no shortage of explanations. There is an opportunity to ask questions," he said.

Russian President Vladimir Putin issued an address to Russians on Wednesday and announced a partial mobilization in Russia, calling it a decision that is fully adequate to the current threats.
