The Foreign Ministers of Armenia and the Arab Republic of Egypt, Ararat Mirzoyan and Sameh Shoukry, met in New York on Friday on the margins of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly.

Minister Mirzoyan presented his counterpart details of the large-scale military aggression carried out by Azerbaijan against the sovereign territory of Armenia, strongly condemning the deliberate shelling of civilians and civilian infrastructure by the Azerbaijani armed forces, as well as violations of international humanitarian law. The Foreign Minister stressed the importance of the statements of international partners towards Azerbaijan and the implementation of effective steps to prevent new possible aggressions.

The sides also touched upon the settlement of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

The sides also touched upon the Armenian-Egyptian bilateral agenda. In this context, they stressed with satisfaction the high level of the Armenian-Egyptian political dialogue, active cooperation between the foreign ministries of the two countries based on mutual trust and confidence. Ararat Mirzoyan and Sameh Shoukry expressed readiness to take active steps to give a new impetus to the ongoing cooperation in different fields.
