The U.S. Department of Defense has awarded a $20.6 million contract to manufacture the Switchblade 300 series kamikaze drones to privately held AeroVironment.

AeroVironment today announced it has been awarded a $20.6 million firm-fixed-price contract Aug. 18, 2022 from the U.S. Army Tactical Air and Ground Weapons (TAGM) project office for the Switchblade 300 tactical missile systems, the company said. Deliveries are scheduled to run through July 2023.
