In 2023, capital expenditures aimed at improving security and economic infrastructure in Armenia will increase significantly and amount to 507 million drams. Finance Minister Tigran Khachatryan stated about this at Thursday’s Cabinet meeting of the government of Armenia, as he presented the 2023 state budget draft.

"It is about 207 billion drams more than what was set in the 2022 budget. In 2023, this indicator will reach 5.9 percent of GDP, against the 4.5 percent initially planned for this year.

Allocations to security infrastructures will increase significantly. The work of construction and overhaul of social infrastructures, educational and healthcare institutions will increase.

Allocations to the healthcare sector will amount to 146 billion drams in 2023, which is more than 22 percent more than the amount initially set by the 2022 budget," added the finance minister.
