Following a meeting of the NSDC on September 30, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that Ukraine is applying for NATO membership on an expedited basis.
"De facto, we have already passed our way into NATO. De facto we have already proved compatibility with the standards of the North Atlantic Alliance. Today Ukraine is applying to do it de jure. Under a procedure that will meet our importance for the protection of our whole community. On an expedited basis," Zelenskyy said.
