It was only after the partial collapse of the building that exploded at the Surmalu market in Yerevan that the management of this market had petitioned to the Yerevan Municipality to obtain permission to dismantle this partially-collapsed building.

And on September 30, the city hall issued that permission.

The cleaning of the debris and dismantling the aforesaid building has started 1.5 months after the deadly explosion there on August 14.

The area of the building that exploded at the Surmalu market is still closed due to safety norms, and police officers continue their duty in the area.

Other stalls at this shopping market are working, but according to merchants, the flow of people has decreased since the explosion.

There are 16 casualties, and one person is considered missing as a result of the aforesaid explosion at Surmalu market on August 14. And on August 24, the Ministry of Emergency Situations had stopped the search and rescue operations for the missing person. Criminal proceedings are in progress regarding this explosion.

One month after the explosion, on September 21, the wall of the damaged building of the Surmalu market had collapsed due to strong winds. Four persons were recognized as injured party in the respective criminal proceedings. Three of them had sustained physical injuries, whereas the fourth person's car was damaged as a result of this collapse.
