Speaker Alen Simonyan of the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia assures that Russia has not made a demand to Armenia to become a part of the Union State of Russia and Belarus.

"I have not witnessed any such conversation with my Russian colleagues. There is no such conversation and it cannot be," Simonyan told reporters at the NA Tuesday.

To the remark that there may be such a talk but he does not know about it, the NA speaker responded: "I rule out that something like this will happen and I won't know [about it]."

Reporters asked Simonyan whether this means that he does not consider the source of the Haykakan Zhamanak daily to be reliable, he said. "No, I don't consider [so]."

Armtimes.com, the website of Haykakan Zhamanak which is affiliated with PM Nikol Pashinyan's family, had written on Tuesday that Russia wants from Armenia virtually the same as what it wants from Ukraine: that it become part of the Union State of Russia and Belarus, or of Russia.
