Since 1990, 829 people in Armenia have suffered from mines and unexploded ordnance, Karine Hakhnazaryan, head of the Public Relations Department of the Expert Center for Humanitarian Demining, told journalists today.

She reminded that the last case was recorded in early October when a 31-year-old man was hospitalized after accidentally stepping on a mine near Chambarak in Gegharkunik Province of Armenia. The citizen was slightly injured in his extremities. His condition is satisfactory.

Hakhnazaryan reported plans to carry out citizen awareness work in Chambarak.

"Such work in 2022 was carried out with 7238 citizens. If necessary, citizens can call 080009000, 911 or 1-02," she noted.
