Iran must be ready for hybrid threats, Iran's Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Mohammad Bagheri, Press TV reports.

"In fact, we are currently facing hybrid threats. Military threats, security threats, and sometimes unknown threats ... and we have to be prepared for that ... confrontation," Baqeri added.

He welcomed the great efforts of the police to establish national order and security, given the recent unrest in the country.

Bagheri added that in recent days, enemies have resorted to a "pathetic excuse" to carry out "great plots and [acts of] sedition" against the country and prevent its progress, but the noble and wise Iranian people have expressed their support for the Islamic establishment "in the face of plots by arrogant powers."

He also warned against the enemies' attempts to sow discord in the Iranian armed forces, saying that they had failed to achieve their goal, thanks to the coherence among all units of the armed forces.
