Taiwan's armed forces on Monday recorded 26 planes and four ships of the People's Liberation Army of China (PLA) approaching the island, according to a daily report from Taiwan's defense ministry.

As of 5 p.m. Oct. 10, Taiwan's armed forces have recorded the activities of 26 planes and four ships of the People's Liberation Army of China in the sea and airspace near Taiwan, the report said.

Eight aircraft crossed the so-called midline of the Taiwan Strait, including six J-16 fighters, one Y-8 anti-submarine aircraft and one Y-8 electronic reconnaissance aircraft.

According to the agency, Taiwan sent an air patrol to monitor the situation, issued radio warnings, and deployed anti-aircraft missile systems.
