India is deeply concerned about the escalation of the conflict in Ukraine and is ready to support all attempts at de-escalation, a spokesman for the country's foreign ministry said.

"We reiterate that an escalation of hostilities is not in anyone's interest. We call for an immediate cessation of hostilities and an immediate return to the path of diplomacy and dialogue," Foreign Ministry spokesman Arindam Bagchi said.
