Lawyer Erik Aleksanyan does not accept the charges against him, lawyer Gayane Papoyan wrote on her Facebook.

"Although I have been warned not to disclose the secrecy of the preliminary investigation, I would like to report that the initiated criminal proceedings have nothing to do with bribery," Papoyan wrote.

The lawyer is certain that Aleksanian's detention is connected with his activities and his criticism of the current government. She reminded that once her client defended opposition MPs Armen Charchyan and Armen Gevorgyan, former Prosecutor General Aghvan Hovsepyan, oppositionist Vazgen Manukyan, head of Goris Community Arush Arushanyan and many others.
