The military exercises currently taking place in Iran are anti-Azerbaijani in nature. Iran is preparing for all possible scenarios, including military strikes on Azerbaijani territory and the deployment of Iranian troops into Azerbaijani occupied territories of Artsakh, Iranian expert Vardan Voskanyan told NEWS.am.

"Different scenarios will be realized during the exercises, including the construction of a temporary pontoon bridge over the Araks River, drone strikes, seizure of heights and settlements.

The Iranians are sending a clear geopolitical signal to curb the Azerbaijani-Turkish tandem's appetite for Armenia's Syunik region. During the September aggression, the Iranian president warned not only Aliyev, but also Erdogan, which was one of the most important deterrents in this matter.

As for Tehran's statement about involving other parties, these words also apply to Armenia. The peacekeeping mission of European countries will be seen by Iran as a NATO mission.

Iran has also issued numerous warnings regarding the Israeli presence in Azerbaijan. The current military exercises are also aimed at possible opposition to Israel from Azerbaijani territory. It is no secret that Azerbaijan has become a staging ground for Israeli anti-Iranian operations. Azerbaijan is building a network of airports in the occupied territories of Artsakh to carry out anti-Iranian, anti-Armenian and anti-Russian activities. These airports are of exclusively military significance and will be used by Israel and NATO countries," the expert noted.
