The Armenian authorities applied to the OSCE to send observers to the border with Azerbaijan, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan stated at a briefing in Yerevan on Tuesday.

His Norwegian counterpart Anniken Huitfeldt was beside him.

According to Mirzoyan, the possibility of sending OSCE observers to the Armenian-Azerbaijani border is being discussed at the moment. They are planned to be deployed on the territory of Armenia.

"We will have clarity on this issue in the near future," the FM assured.

As for the EU civil mission, according to Mirzoyan, Armenia expects international involvement in the issue of establishing peace in the South Caucasus.

The mission will be focusing on gathering proofs of Azerbaijan's aggression, as well as the invasion into Armenia's sovereign territory, Mirzoyan said.

The mission, in his opinion, should also deal with the prevention of new aggressions, thus contributing to the establishment of a stable peace.
