An earthquake of magnitude 5.5 occurred Saturday in the west of China's Sichuan Province, the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center reported.

According to this information the epicenter of this earthquake was located 48 km to the South-East from Kangding city with the population about 100 thousand people. The source was located at the depth of 80 km.

There was no information about victims and destructions.
