Tehran will not allow its national interests and security to become the plaything of terrorists and those who carry out foreign interference in Iran's internal affairs, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said Thursday.

"This crime has fully clarified the ill intentions of those who support terror and violence in Iran. There is credible evidence that enemies have developed a multi-layered project to foment instability in Iran...Undoubtedly, we will not allow Iran's national interests and security to become a toy in the hands of terrorists and those who interfere from abroad, claiming to (protect) human rights," Abdollahian wrote on his social media page, commenting on the attack on the Shah Cheragh Mausoleum.

Earlier, a number of Iranian media reported that three unidentified men opened fire at the Shah Cheragh Mausoleum in the southern Iranian city of Shiraz. Tasnim news agency reported that only one attacker acted, but Iran's state television channel noted that there was also a second terrorist who was near the mausoleum. As a result of the terrorist attack, according to the media, 13 people were killed and 45 others were wounded.
