The authorities plan to increase the number of tourists in Armenia to 2.5 million annually by the year 2026. Economy Minister Vahan Kerobyan announced this in the National Assembly, at Tuesday’s joint session of parliamentary standing committees, during the latter’s debates on the draft 2023 state budget of Armenia.

According to the minister, measures are being taken to improve the conditions for tourism in Armenia, as well as to increase the profit from each tourist visiting the country.

Moreover, in 2023, marketing expenses for the development of tourism in Armenia will be increased five times, and funds will be allocated from the state budget as well.

"Instead of the planned 200 million drams this year, in 2023, about 1 billion drams will be allocated from the state budget," said Kerobyan.

He noted that respective work is being done also with the German GIZ company, which is actively engaged in the development of tourism in Armenia.
