Iran's gas exports to Armenia will double. Majid Chegeni, Iranian Deputy Petroleum Minister and General Director of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC), said after signing a memorandum of understanding on economic cooperation in the energy sector signed between Armenia and IRI, Mehr reports.

"Today, within the framework of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's visit to Iran, a memorandum of understanding on cooperation with Iran was signed, in addition to the agreement to extend the barter agreement "gas in exchange for electricity" until 2030. Based on this, in accordance with the increase of exported gas volume, the barter tariff for electricity will also be changed.  We export one million cubic meters of gas to Armenia every day, it will be doubled based on the new memorandum," he noted.
