Turkey will complete the construction of a pipeline to connect to the gas system from the Black Sea in November this year, President Tayyip Erdogan said.

BOTAŞ (Turkey's state-owned company) will complete the onshore pipeline to connect gas to the national system this month, Anadolu news agency quoted Erdogan as saying.

Earlier, the Sabah newspaper wrote that Turkey will invest almost $10 billion in a project to extract and transport 540 billion cubic meters of gas from the Sakarya field in the Black Sea. According to the plans, the first gas from the field should come to Turkey in 2023. Donmez reported that the value of the gas discovered in the Black Sea is $400 billion.
