Seventy-four percent of Diaspora Armenians are ready to invest in Armenia. Armenian Minister of Economy Vahan Kerobyan said this at the official opening of the two-day international conference, entitled "Alternative Investments in Armenia," that started in the capital Yerevan Tuesday.

"The goal of our government is to change the structure of the economy and move from a consumption-based growth model to an investment-based model—increasing the amount of total investment to 25 percent of the [country’s] GDP, the amount of foreign direct investment—to 6 percent of the GDP, etc.," said Kerobyan, assuring that all the conditions for the activity of private investment funds have been created in Armenia. He added that the Armenian government is ready to support the formation of these funds in every possible way.

More than 150 delegates from Armenia, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Curacao are participating in the two-day international conference "Alternative Investments in Armenia."

The two-day working platform has brought together representatives of investors, venture companies, financial organizations, private companies, governments, and diplomatic institutions.
