Airports in the capital of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Abu Dhabi plans to launch electric cabs with vertical take-off and landing, Arabian Business reported.

The Abu Dhabi Airport Authority has signed a memorandum of understanding with the French firm Groupe ADP, which owns and operates three airports in Paris. Together, they plan to explore the potential of electric vehicles with vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL).

Abu Dhabi Airports and Groupe ADP will participate in the joint planning, design, development and operation of the ground infrastructure for Advanced Air Mobility electric cabs in Abu Dhabi, the company said in a statement. No timeline was given for the introduction of the flying electric cabs into service.
