The new owner of Twitter, Elon Musk, announced a vote to unblock the account of former U.S. President Donald Trump. Users can choose to vote "for" or "against" the American entrepreneur's microblog.

Musk accompanied the poll with the Latin proverb "Vox populi, vox Dei" - "The voice of the people is the voice of God." Voting will last for 24 hours. In the first two hours, about four million users expressed their opinion on unlocking Trump's account.

Earlier in the day, the businessman announced that three Twitter accounts had been unblocked. The microblogs of comedian and actress Kathy Griffin, psychologist Jordan Peterson and the conservative satirical Christian portal Babylon Bee are available again on the social network.
