The Sydney Morning Herald reports that after 37 years, a serial killer has been caught in the act of raping 31 women in the suburbs of Sydney.

The crimes took place from 1985 to 2001. According to the publication, the rapist's victims ranged in age from 13 to 55. The man attacked them in parks and also broke into homes at night.

In 2005 alone, identical DNA samples were found at five crime scenes, and later at seven more.

It took police more than 10 years to identify the perpetrator of the rapes. It turned out, according to the investigation, to be 66-year-old Kim Simms. He died in February 2022.

Simms' relatives said they knew nothing about his crimes and, on the contrary, called the man a model father and husband.
