A meeting of the Collective Security Council (CSC) of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) will be held in Yerevan Wednesday under the chairmanship of Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan.

The CSC members will discuss current issues of international and regional security and the main results of the activities of the CSTO during the inter-parliamentary period. One of the most important issues will be the improvement of the CSTO crisis response system and the discussion of joint measures to provide assistance to Armenia.

It is planned to adopt a declaration of the CSC during this session.

Considering the passing of the CSTO 2022-2023 chairmanship to Belarus, the latter’s President Aleksandr Lukashenko will present his country's respective priorities which shall be implemented next year.

A number of documents for signing are included in the agenda of the upcoming meeting of the CSC. The CSTO 2023 budget will be discussed, too.

Before the start of the CSC meeting, a joint meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers, the Council of Defense Ministers, and the Committee of Secretaries of the Security Councils of the CSTO member states will be held, during which the military and political situation in the CSTO collective security regions, and the agenda of the upcoming session of the CSC will be discussed. During the joint meeting, it is planned to adopt a number of important political statements, too.

In connection with the upcoming rotation, from January 1, 2023, the CSC will also consider the matter of the new Secretary General of the CSTO.
