Russia will not be invited to the annual Munich Security Conference to be held in February 2023, said the new chairman of the forum, German diplomat and former adviser to former German Chancellor Angela Merkel Christoph Heusgen, reports Deutsche Welle.

"Russian officials are not invited to MSC2023. We will not give them a platform for their propaganda. We want to discuss Russia's future with Russian opposition leaders and exiled people - THEIR voices need to be heard and amplified," Heusgen wrote on Twitter.

The Munich Conference is one of the most prestigious international forums on international security, attended by heads of state and government, ministers, well-known politicians and public figures from dozens of countries. The conference website states that participants will have the opportunity to assess the degree of alliance cohesion and political commitment to an international order based on the rule of law.
