A British fisherman has caught a giant 30-kilogram "golden" carp while fishing in northern France, Sky News TV channel reports.

The fish, which was caught by 43-year-old fisherman, is a mixture of leather carp and koi carp. The British gave his prey the nickname Carrot.

The fisherman added that he had been fishing in France for several years and knew there was an "elusive carp" in the local lake that no one had been able to catch for more than three years. The Briton was able to catch the carp in 25 minutes. However, the carp was soon released back into the lake.
