Russian and Azerbaijani Prime Ministers Mikhail Mishustin and Ali Asadov had a telephone conversation on Tuesday following talks that took place in Baku on November 17, the press service of the Russian government reported.

During their conversation the heads of the two countries paid special attention to implementation of joint projects in transport, energy and other spheres. In addition, Mishustin and Asadov discussed topical issues related to bilateral investment and development of trade and economic cooperation between Russia and Azerbaijan.

During the talks on November 17, Mishustin said that Russian regions are interested in expanding cooperation with the Azerbaijani side - especially in shipbuilding, investment, transport, industry and agriculture.

"Expansion of the geography of regional ties and strengthening of established contacts will help develop our economies, improve the quality of life of citizens of Russia and Azerbaijan," the Russian Prime Minister expressed confidence.

He also called for more active use of the high potential of development of humanitarian cooperation between Russia and Azerbaijan, focusing on the preservation of the common language space and its adaptation to changing conditions. In addition, the Russian Prime Minister stated the importance of transport and logistics projects for Russian-Azerbaijani cooperation.
