It is unfortunate that Armenia's membership in the CSTO did not deter Azerbaijan from aggressive actions, especially since we have not actually managed to reach a decision regarding the organization’s reaction to the aggression of Azerbaijan against Armenia. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced this at Wednesday’s Yerevan meeting of the CSTO Collective Security Council.

"Those facts cause huge damage both inside our country and outside its borders, and I consider it as the main failure of Armenia's chairmanship in the CSTO," Pashinyan added.

He recalled that Armenia's chairmanship in CSTO ends today.

"This year was quite full. We celebrated the 30th anniversary of the Collective Security Treaty and the 20th anniversary of the creation of the CSTO. Unfortunately, we are not in a jubilee mood," he argued.

Also, Pashinyan reminded that in the last two years Armenia, a CSTO member country, was subjected to military aggression by Azerbaijan at least three times.

"I can say the same about the tension on the border of our allies Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. Moreover, I should also mention our successful actions. I mean the operative response of the CSTO to the call of the President of Kazakhstan to assist them in restoring the legal order in the country in January of this year. In this case, we resolved the issue overnight, which enabled Kazakhstan to avoid domestic chaos. I hope that we will manage to coordinate our allied approaches and achieve coordinated collective interaction on current issues," concluded the Armenian premier.
