Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed hope at the summit of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) in Yerevan that "the peacekeeping efforts of the Russian side will allow the settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict."

According to RIA Novomati, Tokayev, speaking at the summit, supported steps aimed at a diplomatic settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict, according to the head of state's press service.

"We are all interested in normalizing relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. We hope that the peacemaking efforts of the Russian side will make it possible to resolve the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict exclusively by political and diplomatic means and lead the sides to the signing of a peace agreement," Tokayev said in a press release.
