Representatives of Russia and Ukraine met last week in the United Arab Emirates to discuss the possibility of exchanging prisoners of war, Reuters reported citing sources.

The talks were held with the participation of the UAE, while representatives of the United Nations were not present.

In addition, on November 17, representatives of Moscow and Kiev in the Emirates were to discuss the elimination of the remaining obstacles to the product deal.

According to the agency's source, the Russian side offered to allow the export of ammonia in exchange for the transfer of prisoners. The agency does not know whether progress was established during the meeting.

Ukraine's ambassador to Turkey, Vasily Bodnar, told Reuters that the release of Ukrainian prisoners of war is part of negotiations to resume Russian ammonia exports.
